Prior to HPE, Tim spent several years at SimpliVity, PernixData, Mosaic Technology, and Bowdoin College.

Summary AWS re:Invent re:cap – 100 announcements in less than 50 minutes*** This talk will cover the major announcements from AWS in 2018 including new virtualization technologies, VMWare on AWS, AWS Outposts, and more. Randall Hunt is a Senior Technical Evangelist and Software Engineer at Amazon Web Services in Los Angeles. Randall spends most of his time building demos and writing about new services and launches. Python is his favorite programming language but he can sometimes be found in the dark realm of C++. Prior to working at AWS, Randall launched rockets at NASA and SpaceX but he found his programming passion at MongoDB. He is a total space nerd.

Summary “Building Modern APIs with GraphQL”---Modern APIs face numerous challenges spanning security, performance, domain modeling, caching, and more. Come learn how to tackle these challenges with GraphQL. This talk will equip you with a clear understanding of GraphQL by way of interactive examples. We’ll also cover GraphQL reference architectures, strategies to take GraphQL into production, and the future of GraphQL. Beginners welcome! Robert is a Principal Technical Evangelist on AWS and contributor to GraphQL. Prior, he worked on GraphQL at Facebook. He also worked at Microsoft as a software engineer on Xbox and .net.
